It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of Class I Officer Silvia Nicholson.  Silvia was a valued member of the TRPD family and she will be greatly missed.

Silvia was hired in 2017 with our then Auxiliary Unit, and became a Class I Officer shortly thereafter. Always greeting you with her contagious smile, Silvia was truly a bright light within our agency.  She worked many special events and loved to engage with our community.

Silvia leaves behind her loving husband, two beautiful children, and so many who's lives she touched along the way.

We were taken back, and truly honored, when Silvia and her husband requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Toms River Police Foundation. We are truly grateful for the gesture, and promise to share their generosity with the youth through our scholarships and community outreach here in Toms River.
